Klageritual/ Rite of Mourning
Voice and movement research laboratory
We invite performers professional, semi-professional and amateur to participate in our laboratory. Any age, size, sexual orientation, sex or race is welcome. We appreciate participants with a migration background.
Theme: Mourning is a performance of emotions that is actually taboo in modern public life and has been pushed into the private sphere. In our lab "Klageritual" we want to deprivatise grief and present it as a public practice. We are interested in "Klageritual" as a transgression that goes beyond the personal and rational and promotes the transition to another level of experience.
We would like to research together on the topics of lamenting as a collective form of witnessing, politics of care, personal rituals, mourning the future.
You will be occupied with the releasing techniques for the voice and breathing, movement research, meditative collective handwork, storytelling, self-reflection and a bit of theory.
Language of the laboratory: English and/or German, depending on the final group.
Participation is free of charge.
When: 6 meetings,
8th, 12th, 15th, 19th, 26th and 29th of October. 18:00-21:00
This laboratory is a part of “Klageritual” project and will lead to the showing 2.-5.12.21 at Lichthof Theatre.
Where: Hammer Deich 10, 20537 Hamburg
